The volume Stalinization and Destalinization. Institutional developments and Social Impact, coordinated by Cosmin Budeancă and Florentin Olteanu, was published by Polirom publishing house with the support of the Institute for the investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile (IICCMRE) and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
The volume includes the works presented at the 8th edition of the International Symposium from Făgăraş-Sâmbăta de Sus, Stalinization and Destalinization. Institutional Developments and Social Impact, 4-7 July 2013. It examines the effects of stalinization processes and institutional reform and destalinization, social, religious and cultural heritage both in Romania and in other countries of Eastern Europe, Moldova, Hungary, Slovenia and Poland, being a genuine book-document about terror camps and survival. On the basis of archive documents and numerous interviews, the team of Romanian and foreign specialists has managed to achieve an overview of the era, highlighting the most important forms that they have taken in the former satellite countries adverse influences exerted by the repressive measures promoted by Joseph Stalin. Political developments are presented of the major Romanian political parties, diplomatic relations between Romania and the Soviet Union, censorship institutions, the impact of stalinization on the judiciary, but also the situation of collectivization, ethnic community or religious persecution from Romania and Hungary, Moldavian SSR. A few portraits of personalities of the brand, as well as Lucretius Pătrăşcanu, George Călinescu, Ioan Ioan Crişan,  its priests and Florian Raţiu or Commander (r) Constantin Catherine Pogonat, complete historical perspective afforded readers.
