The Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania unraveled the mystery of a swift execution ordered by the Securitate in 1950

In accordance with its objectives, the IICCR started off an investigation regarding the circumstances of Iosif Orşa’s death. Iosif Orşa was a native of Glodghileşti, Burjuc commune, Hunedoara County. He was executed on 11 February 1950 by two Securitate officers, in the back of his house. Orşa was to be the godfather of a young pair that was to get married the next day, Sunday, 12 February 1950.
