The training A history of communism

Starting with 2008, the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes in Romania organized a series of trainings addressing high school history teachers. This project had as immediate purpose to promote the specific teaching methods in the area of the history of communism. The course was based on the school curriculum and the afferent didactical material that offered the means for making possible the teaching of the course in Romanian high schools. In order to pursue this scope, the course was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Embassy of Netherlands.

The training was organized in different areas of the country: Bucharest, Constanta, Timisoara, Cluj and Iasi, the result being the teaching of the course in most of the targeted high schools. In 2009, the Institute will continue this project in other parts of the country as well, with the hope that positive results will be attained from the part of the teachers involved.
